The black diamond hung high up in the sky. People had named it the Anomaly. It had plunged the world into disarray ever since it appeared in the sky seven years before. Cars no longer worked. Roads developed deep cracks. Humans were forced to live in fortified towns. Bandits ruled the empty streets and beasts ruled the wild. A count down toward the “Total Convergence” kept reminding every living thing that they had only a week to the end of the world. All this and Jay still had only one thing on his mind. He had promised his late wife that he would bury her ashes in Escanaba, an almost impossible undertaking from Detroit. Setting out on his mission, Jay narrowly survived death and found himself imprisoned, together with a few comrades he met, by a tribe of mutants. Will his newly acquired powers come to his rescue as the world nears its end? Find out more in Convergence by Jesse Clary.
Convergence will appeal to lovers of pre-apocalyptic novels laced with a tale of survival, sacrifices, prisoners, a cult, mutants, and monsters, with a touch of action. Jesse Clary unfolds the plot with originality, adding a subtle and macabre tone to the storyline. The vivid depictions made the reading experience feel like watching a movie. The colorful and fast-paced events will make this book a favorite for those who enjoyed Bird Box and Mad Max. The author exposed the emotions and qualities of the role players, allowing me to experience their feelings. Jay is that type of daring, undaunted, shrewd, fierce, yet compassionate character who will stop at nothing to achieve what he sets his mind to achieve. There is adventure, suspense, thrill, horror, and action for fans of these genres.
