Everyone has problems they might secretly be dealing with but when your secret could potentially ruin your friend group, it really has a way of dragging you down. Chasing the Moon: The Campfire Series Book 3 by Melanie Hooyenga follows Melody and her ragtag group of friends as they take a trip to the Grand Canyon to watch the lunar eclipse. Things are complicated and only become even more so when secrets are revealed over time. Can the bonds between friends withstand the upcoming trials and will love flourish under the moon and stars?
Chasing the Moon by Melanie Hooyenga is such a beautiful story and I thoroughly enjoyed every minute reading it. It is rare to find books that depict such healthy relationships and dynamics between not only friends but family as well, and despite some issues, this is something very prominent in this book. Not only were the story and the characters good but the writing was magnificent. Hooyenga writes using such emotive and descriptive language that brings the world and characters to life, which ultimately makes for such an immersive story. I couldn’t help but become emotionally invested in Mel and Steph's relationship and how it would impact the overall dynamic of their group. Regardless, I was rooting for them all the way and just hoping that things would work out for the best. All in all, Chasing the Moon is such a lovely and wholesome book to read and makes me regret not having read the previous books. Either way, this is an amazing book and I would highly recommend it.
