His execution, aligned with the murder of fae royalty, could very well force the humans knowing of the courts into an open war, one they had no hope of winning. Who or what could be behind a plot? An enemy from his past, or someone seeking to throw the world into turmoil? One thing is for certain: their actions have such far reaching repercussions that even he hasn't considered them all. The hunter has become the hunted, and to clear his name he must find a way to expose the real culprit. Easier said than done with the entire force of the fae on his trail.
Chaos Unbound by Brian S. Leon is book two in The Metis Files. It is a fast paced epic fantasy with non-stop heart-pounding action, adventure, conspiracies, mystery, conflict, and mythical creatures. I enjoyed the appearance of familiar characters from Greek mythology, as well as other ancient mythos, and the author's adaptation of the characters and origins to suit their tale. Whilst this is the second book in the series I didn't have any issues following it as stand-alone. I found the main character, Steve, also known as Diomedes, to be a likeable and intriguing protagonist, who still after thousands of years has plenty of room for growth and development, which is shown through the story as the tense and gripping tale progresses. As the first book I have read from this author, I am certainly interested to discover what happened both before and after. A great, enjoyable tale presented with a compelling narrative that will keep you hooked.
