Lisa Reinicke is the majority holder of Our House Publications and author of 4 published children’s picture books for sale on Amazon and independent bookstores. Lisa was honored with the Mom's Choice Gold Award for lifetime literary excellence for her children's book "Wings and Feet" in 2017. She is a storyteller and author of 35 children’s stories appearing on local TV shows, elementary schools, and bookstores. The stories have been published in 3 collective recordings for distribution for A Goodnight Sleep Company. She also produced online (virtual) training for service advisors and technicians. One day a little boy forgets to close his pet’s fence gate and his pet dinosaur escapes in Bart’s Escape Out the Gate by Lisa Reinicke. It is a bad day for the neighborhood as Bart goes running all over and causes trouble for all his neighbors. The little boy sets out to catch Bart. He sees people running around in fear. The little boy assures them that Bart will not hurt them and he just wants to play with them. Bart is having fun scaring people and animals, knocking things down, and enjoying himself. Everyone in the neighborhood is angry. Will the little boy be able to take Bart back home and lock the gate?
The story is delightful and has an excellent message for young readers, that of being responsible and fixing things which have been broken. The illustrations are vivid and lively and they make the characters and story come alive. The story also shows how a small mistake by the child causes so much chaos and the cleanup after that without passing the buck. It is also good to see how the little boy gets things back in order so that the neighbors are happy. This story is excellent for children as the message conveyed and the concept are good and it helps them understand clearly when conveyed through the story of Bart and the little boy. Parents should read books like this to their children, and tutors and educators can use this story for read aloud sessions in classrooms because of its lovely message.
