Words from the Sky: Dedicated Poems to each Heavenly Word by Rayan Abdul-Baki is a collection of spiritually uplifting poems that looks at life in a positive manner. The author speaks about life in general, dedicates poems to his mother, tsunami victims, victims of racism, God, and many more. Almost all the poems are written to inspire and motivate readers in their lives. All the poems are directed towards achieving love and peace in each one's life and to enhance their quality of living. It is also a reflection of the poet's dream of achieving peace on earth.
A spiritual theme runs through the book and the poet has covered almost all the important emotions. The style of writing is simple, honest, and straight forward. Many of the poems might help readers to change their perspective and look at life from a different angle. It is nice to see a thirteen-year-old poet come up with such words of wisdom at an early age. His craving for peace in this world is infectious. And as this young poet puts it, this is a chance to broaden our minds.
I liked the poem 'Harmony' for its word choices which gives readers a nice feeling while reading. The poems in this book are like food for the soul and they reiterate our faith and belief in God and his existence. 'Hope' is another relevant theme which is well worded and expressed by the poet. I loved 'Dreams' for its dreamy quality.
