Author Biography

Stanley has served as the Program Director in the School Partnerships Program, a school improvement project at DePaul University. He has also served as an adjunct faculty member at Concordia University. He founded his mentoring program, From Boys To Men Network Foundation, in 1991, to improve the quality of life for school-age boys in Chicago’s inner city. This work is a follow-up to his Amazon.com bestseller: Not All Teachers Are Parents, But All Parents Are Teachers!

In Winners Never Quit and Quitters Never Win!: Never Allow A Bully to Define You! by Stanley G. Buford, the author handles the relevant topic of bullying and how everyone can overcome it. Herman made Pebo feel uncomfortable with his piercing eyes and bulky body. Pebo is tired of being bullied and his friend, Divvy, tells him to stand up for himself and speak up because winners never quit and quitters never win. Both Divvy and Pebo realize that with proper techniques anyone can stand up and be a stronger person. Will they both be able to handle Herman and put him in his place?

Many kids face bullying in school, which makes them reluctant to go to school. The 'Bully' problem is an issue in school and the author shows through the story of Pebo how it leaves them stressed. The five proven steps to resolve problems with bullies are useful and helpful, and parents and educators should guide kids if they face this problem anywhere. The theme song is encouraging and motivating and will guide young readers to take a stand against bullying and bullies.

It's a good bedtime storybook and can also be used for read aloud sessions in classrooms and school libraries. All educators, counselors, and parents will find the tips and suggestions given by the author very useful on how to handle the problem of bullying. The book is simple, easy to comprehend, and also connects well with readers that they will be able to practice the advice.
