Waiting For You / Esperando Por Ti by Mikayla Ruvalcaba is a bilingual children's book depicting pregnancy in an age-appropriate way to help parents express their excitement and longing in the months leading up to the baby's arrival. It's a great book for young children, and the easy-to-read sentence structure and inclusion of English and Spanish make this a unique read. The story is told from the perspective of the parents telling their child about the time they spent in their mother's belly. From the months of waiting to the last-minute preparations, the story presents the topic in a way that young children can understand and enjoy. Jee Astoeti’s adorable illustrations creatively portray the emotional nature of the story. These expressive and colorful illustrations are sure to amuse and delight young readers.
Waiting For You / Esperando Por Ti by Mikayla Ruvalcaba is a wonderful children's book and would make a lovely addition to a young reader's growing library. The story is written with bilingual readers in mind and uses color coding with the English in black and the Spanish included below it in red. The story teaches children about the excitement and anticipation that is part of waiting for a new baby, and how much those who love them long for the day they come home so that they can hold the new baby. This is a quick read and uses short sentences to help children follow along. The story is a beautiful reminder of what a gift children are and the joy included with all the changes as the parents prepare to welcome the new addition into their home.
