When you hear the term “hero,” what do you think of? Firemen? First responders? Police officers? Most people do. However, David Ritchey will give you a new way of looking at heroes in his book Unlikely Heroes of All Sorts. In this delightful and entertaining book, David shows example after example of heroes that are not human. Each section of the book starts with information about the type of hero that will be discussed. Not only will you read the thrilling stories of animal heroes, but you also will gain insight and knowledge concerning the various animal families that David discusses. You will learn to look at animals in a new and different light. David tells the stories of dogs who are heroes. He tells not only of dog heroes but he also includes horses, cats, primates, elephants, and a host of other animals.
If you like animals, you will absolutely love Unlikely Heroes of All Sorts by David Ritchey. I am an animal lover, and this book has just blown me away. I never thought of a pig becoming a hero. David enlightens his readers to the vast array of animals that have done heroic deeds. His book is written in an engaging and easy-to-read style. He presents facts in such a way that the reader will never become bored. He gives just enough details to capture your attention without overwhelming you with facts. You will not only learn about various animal heroes, but David also gives information about the various animal families to which the heroes belong. Great book!
