Unidentical Carbon Copies is the story of Jerome Foster. Born into poverty, the Jamaican was deserted by his father when he as only thirteen. At a concert, Jerome met Alfonso, his soul mate. The couple had a friend with late stages of HIV. Maxine asked if they would adopt her child Richard. There came a point when he knew he had to tell his family he was gay. Uncle Zane preached to him, using scriptures to back up his argument, but Aunt Sybil gave him the unconditional acceptance he needed.
In a courageous effort to shed light on the lives of same gender relationships and the spread of AIDS, Algernon Michael Roark pens Unidentical Carbon Copies. Jerome and Alfonso cared deeply for each other and for the child they adopted together. They were both loving and compassionate parents. Unidentical Carbon Copies asks society and religious leaders to reevaluate their view of gay relationships. Roark is making a political statement through his art. He convicts people of their treatment of HIV victims. Unidentical Carbon Copies has an interesting plot. The characters are well-developed. Fans of fiction will enjoy Unidentical Carbon Copies.
