In Under the Pink Sky by Tara Eldana, Sara feels her life is so mundane at times, working in a human resources department for a boss, Dougie, who doesn't seem to notice her. She has had no serious boyfriend to speak of, and her dreams of making passionate love underwater with a mysterious handsome stranger is her only romantic excitement. Sara believes she is going mad when Thane joins the company and bears a striking resemblance to the man from her dreams. Thane and Sara have an instant attraction and when he touches her for the first time, there is no doubt they are meant to be together. When Thane actually appears to be the man in her dreams, her life takes an unexpected twist as he introduces her to his world. Just as they are about to look toward a perfect future, Thane risks his life to save her, leaving him unaware who she is. Sara has very little time to help Thane regain his memory and she faces a life of solitude and abandonment in a world where she is the definite outsider.
Under the Pink Sky by Tara Eldana is such a refreshing read where fantasies and dreams become a reality. A perfect romance novel but with a welcome addition of tension and thrills. I loved the main characters of Sara and Thane; they were created with such consideration and care. The dynamics between them were electric. I also loved the character of Becky, I believe everyone should have a friend like her. She always seemed to be the voice of reason but was very supportive of Sara at the same time. The conflict between Sara and Thane's mother added an extra dimension to the storyline which helped to keep the plot moving forward continuously and definitely kept me engaged in the story. The scene where Thane is injured was written perfectly and was a definite tense moment. I also thought the scenes afterward, where Sara believes her life is going to be spent without Thane, were so heartbreaking and I was rooting for Sara to be reunited with Thane. This is the perfect novel to read when you want some escapism from your everyday routine. The brilliant descriptive narrative will transport you into an underwater world where everything is filled with true love and passion.
