A 26-year-old junior Assistant Professor stumbles across the find of a lifetime, but sets off ripples that affect not only the entire community of paleo-anthropologists, but the entire world in Towers of Darkness by Stefan Vucak. Larry Krafter is assigned to document and remove a human hand wearing a bracelet, and a skull embedded in a coal seam that is nearly 40 million years old. Unfortunately, no one believes that humans walked the earth at that time, so proving the validity of the find is an uphill battle. This is especially true with the icons of anthropology whose lifetimes of work may now be found invalid. Greed and power are just as strong in academia as in the business world and, when the two are combined, no lengths seem too extreme to prevent the acceptance of Larry’s research. With highly respected anthropologists sabotaging his work, and an unscrupulous association administrator calling on less than reputable means to discourage Larry, the action becomes intense. Will the truth win out or is the status quo to be maintained at all costs?
Naivete and dreams of fame are quickly dashed in this exciting anthropological mystery by Stefan Vucak. Towers of Darkness is an exposé style story, questioning the ethics of the ivory towers of the most respected academic institutions. Fighting for his career and even his life, Larry does not back down and the action builds steadily as the plot plays out. This is truly an amazing look at how greed and position affect people in all professions at all levels! Well written with strong characters, plenty of action, and a wide net of law enforcement closing in on the culprits, Towers of Darkness is sure to please as you can’t wait to see what happens next. Great story!
