Meet the poodles in a little girl's bed in the story Too Many Poodles by Melanie Vogel. There are two poodles at her hip, one on her head, and altogether five poodles in her bed. They are all very comfortable in her bed and the little girl does not want any more poodles. Some of the poodles are running in their sleep, two are snoring, one takes a leap, and the girl cannot get proper rest. She cannot move or breathe, and she has to wiggle free to go to the bathroom. Once she gets back, there is no space for her in the bed. She chooses to sleep on the floor and let the poodles sleep on her bed.

This delightful story is all about making sacrifices for loved ones and Janeen Payne gives good pace and movement to the story with her adorable illustrations. Pictures always make a story appealing and they also help children connect better with the characters. Readers who have pets will love this story and many of them would love to be in the little girl's shoes and have that many poodles their bed or in their homes. The story is simple and charming, and it is a good bedtime storytelling book for parents and grandparents to read out loud. Books that teach good values to children are helpful and it is easy for youngsters to understand when these are woven into a story with interesting and loveable characters.
