Written by William L. Lavell, “The Treos Dilemma” is Book III of the 'Vindicators series'. Jace Ryan’s sister Jade is imprisoned by Fleet Commander Vonn Straker in Dagmar Prison. Treated like a lab rat to spill information on her brother and his crew’s whereabouts, Jade is running out of time. After six months of chasing, Commander Straker devises a new plan by enlisting the help of Ryan’s old nemesis, Tavion Karr, in order to execute his latest trap, and let Jade Ryan become Karr’s hostage. Hungry for revenge, Karr threatens to kill his sister unless Ryan comes to Treos. Fully aware that it is another trap by Straker, Jace Ryan and his crew set course to the third moon of Bernadea, unaware that they will be in for a surprise that they never see coming.
There was a good balance of humor and romance in this action-packed science fiction thriller. I do love Marcus Briggs pairing with Janice Wilkes and Mara with Jace. Despite being the third installment, it has so much background information that I can follow the story without any problem. It is definitely a page turner that kept me going, and I didn't stop reading until I was finished. This novel – or perhaps the series – undeniably has the quality to be adapted to television or even a movie. It is complete and flawless with memorable characters and sharp dialogue. The writing is top-notch and the plot is well-thought-out. I am happy to recommend this novel to sci-fi fans.
