The Superstitious Romance is a romance-drama novel written by Anastasia Alexander. After a span of twenty-six long years, history professor Camille Marie Britain's marriage falls apart, leading her to flee from her home and her job to seek sanctuary in Island Park, Idaho, alongside her eighteen-year-old daughter, Darlene. She arrives at her friend's cabin in the woods, where she meets Jackson Armstrong, an outdoorsman who is also recently divorced. Despite his attempts to make her stay at the park comfortable, Jackson is repeatedly rebuffed by Camille. However, with each passing day, both begin to harbor feelings for each other. But the unexpected arrival of Jackson's beautiful ex-wife, Maggie, complicates things further. Will Camille and Jackson be able to let go of their pasts and take their relationship forward?
Filled with charm, romance, and plenty of warmth, The Superstitious Romance is an engaging drama that breezes past in no time. Author Anastasia Alexander's lovable characters pull at your heartstrings and make you root for them from start to finish. The narrative feels like melted butter and flows past without a single hurdle. I gobbled it up in one sitting. The characters seem well-fleshed out, with layers of depth to their personalities. You find yourself instantly attached to them, and their compelling arcs keep you hooked until the end. Camille and Jackson's relationship is at the center of the narrative, and it provides the thrust to move the plot forward. If you're a fan of romance novels, The Superstitious Romance is the book for you.
