The Sparkzgott Anthology by T.D. Holt is an amazing collection of vignettes, a series of short stories that will take you on a journey around the world, a journey of life, death, and humanity. An unborn child joins us on our journey as we visit different people, a child not yet conceived who allows us to see the world through their eyes and thoughts. Twenty-one vignettes offer a variety of people, thoughts, and concepts, an eclectic combination with a primary theme running through them – what it means to be human. Join this thrilling journey as the time slices count down and evolve around us.
The Sparkzgott Anthology by T.D. Holt is one of the most unique books I have ever read. Most anthologies are full of contributions from different writers; this one is written by just one, but it is an in-depth, fascinating journey undertaken by an unconceived child and focuses on the parent-child relationship throughout. A sparkzgott is defined as the spark that happens at the exact moment a child is conceived, when the sperm and egg become one. The being in these stories is from just before the sparkzgott and doesn't really exist. The book covers many different topics, including different cultures, race, gender, politics, and sex, but they are all handled beautifully, and each story flows seamlessly into the next. This is a thought-provoking book that will raise many questions in your mind and will stay with you long after you have finished reading it. I thoroughly enjoyed it and highly recommend it to anyone looking for something different, something complex yet highly enjoyable.
