The Silver Six is the second novel in the Uncanny Valley series by C.A. Gray. Readers are once again taken on an exciting adventure. Rebecca Cordeaux has learned that her mother is the mysterious leader M of the renegades. Considering that her mother had always come across as someone who was against the renegades, this came as a bit of a shock. Rebecca, her mother and her friends are now on the run from a government that is basically run by some sort of android. The group flees to an underground compound (created by Rebecca’s dad when he was still alive), and tries to come up with a plan to stop the robots and their sinister plans. Rebecca and her group are joined by some more of her friends - and by one character that looks like she’s not quite what or who she claims to be. Can a bunch of renegades find a way to stop a super-intelligent group of androids?
It was easy to get drawn into the world of The Silver Six by C.A. Gray. I have enjoyed the second part in the series as much as the first. It was interesting to see how the different characters interacted, especially with the trust issues that involve Alessandra. The tension between Rebecca, Liam and Andy was also an interesting part of the plot, and you kept wondering what decision Rebecca would make. The author did a great job of making the slightly awkward atmosphere really come across in a way that didn’t make the writing itself awkward. The characters never stop developing, and especially Rebecca’s development is interesting to watch. There are also exciting twists. I had hoped that some situations would work out differently, i.e. go well last minute, but no, the author likes giving her characters plenty of challenges to deal with. The Silver Six is a lot of fun to read but also nerve-wracking!
