In The Legend of Father Time: A Modern Legend by Apolonkia, Father Time is busy maintaining every element of order related to the movement of the earth and its seasons. When Father Time meets with Mother Nature and discovers that humankind is so self-absorbed they are destroying the planet and everything he and Mother Nature created, he is furious. In his anger, he calls a halt to every aspect of the movement of time. Seconds, minutes, hours, days, months, and years cease and are no more. There is no separation of night and day; the sun and moon are not visible in the gray sky. The weather has come to a standstill, the wind does not blow over the land, and the fluctuation of seasons cease to exist. Technology, industry, and transportation no longer function. These unprecedented events send the people of earth into a frenzy. Turning his back on the inhabitants of the world, Father Time considers their crimes against Mother Nature and each other. Can anyone survive his wrath? Will he repent and return the planet to its former glory?
Rhythmically poetic, The Legend of Father Time by Apolonkia explores the urgent need for humanity to change our ways. Skillfully written, this book of poetry charms with beautifully crafted verses. Instantly enchanted by the characters, settings, and incredible descriptions, I fell in love with the story. The author, Apolonkia, has created an engaging tale with a smoothly flowing storyline. The pacing is perfect for a short story. I truly enjoyed this book; it is an ideal quick read when you need to escape into another world.
