The Journey From Poor Procrastinator to Invested Millennial is a nonfiction business/finance self-help book written by Jeremy Kho. Kho is an invested millennial, who is also a self-published author, engineer and online marketer. Now in his thirties, he began learning about investment opportunities when he was in his early twenties. In his book, he describes what procrastination is and how many people, especially millennials, are in danger of letting their time fly by without adequately providing for the futures they desire. He shows the reader how to actually estimate the dollar cost that procrastination can result in and gives advice on how to change one’s mindset from being that of a poor procrastinator to that of an invested millennial. Kho discusses the four traits he sees as the guiding principles of invested millennials, and he advises the reader on how to adopt those traits to create a successful financial strategy for both the short and long term. He cautions against investing carelessly and extols the importance of a secure distribution of assets. His appendices include worksheets that show you how to calculate ROI, assess the real costs of financial procrastination and figure out the value of your time. He also includes worksheets to help one calculate how to pay off debt.
Jeremy Kho’s nonfiction self-help business/finance book, The Journey From Poor Procrastinator to Invested Millennial, is a well-written and informative financial strategy guide for anyone who wants to make a difference in their lives. While written with millennials and their generalized mindsets and situations in mind, Kho’s informative book contains advice relevant to everyone from their late teens through their senior years. I was particularly interested in his discussions of procrastination and techniques for breaking through the “putting it off until later” mindset, as well as his take on getting into the actual business of financial investing. Most of us have no idea how to start investing, and believe that one needs to get a nest egg before beginning to invest. Kho’s arguments against that are persuasive indeed. He uses language that is accessible to laypersons, and his topics are covered in enough detail to enable the reader to fully grasp them. The Journey From Poor Procrastinator to Invested Millennial is most highly recommended.
