The Huntsman of Corvinus by Timothy Bryan is a book in the horror genre. Erica Varga and her daughter Monica led pretty ordinary lives. That is before it began. People were being brutally murdered one after the other. The most troubling news for the Varga family, however, comes after learning that each victim had an interaction with them. Detective Nemeth of the local police force arranges for the family to have around-the-clock protection detail. A few days later the suspect is cornered. The killer, the Huntsman, is relentlessly fired upon, yet he appears unfazed by all the bullet holes in his body. A select few then realize that the killer is not human and that this thing has to be killed before the Varga family joins the list of the deceased. Will the Varga family escape the clutches of the Huntsman? Or will the Huntsman slaughter them all?

The Huntsman of Corvinus was an incredible read. Everything about it was great, but my favourite thing about this book would have to be the plot. It was all so well thought out. That really dawned on me once Timothy Bryan started putting all the pieces in place at the end of the book. He must have spent a considerable amount of time coming up with such a joy of a plot. It's a thrilling, terrifying and also an equally mysterious plot. The action scenes were excellent too, thanks to some very descriptive writing and also well-thought-out choreography. I had no trouble picturing the grotesque Huntsman hunting his prey. The scenes themselves were also described well. Be it an apartment or a farm, each one was conveyed with clarity to me and envisioning each scene as it unfolded was a breeze. The puzzle behind the Huntsman’s origins made the book even more enjoyable for me, as it is quite rare to come across a horror book that has just so much mystique awaiting the reader. In conclusion, I have no doubt that fans of the horror genre will enjoy this one.

Containing a fast-paced plot with twists and turns that you never see coming, The Huntsman of Corvinus provides nail-biting thrills and visceral action sequences alike. Author Timothy Bryan continues to showcase his mastery in the genre as he pens yet another supernatural tale that is bound to entertain fans of horror thrillers. The characters are vibrant and full of life. You find yourself rooting for them as their colorful personalities somehow make them easier to relate to. At times, it felt like an homage to 90s slasher flicks such as Scream, Child's Play, Candyman, etc. I had an absolute blast from start to finish. Anyone who loves slasher movies or the horror genre, in general, will find The Huntsman of Corvinus a thoroughly entertaining reading experience.
