Author Biography

I looked into the eyes of my senior dog one day and I asked myself, "Why? What is it about this dog that causes me to love her so much? She's a dog. I'm a Christian, and I should know better than to allow my feelings to be so strong for ... just a dog. She's not a human being with a like soul. So why can't I shake this feeling of unconditional love towards my dog and just see her for what she is, an animal? I love her like I'd love a child. Is that right?" Tears filled my eyes as God answered. In this book, THE HOUSE by Chambray Blue (my pen name), I created a fictional character, Bob Noone, to reveal God's response to my question that day. My peace lies in what God revealed to me about this beast, one of His creatures, my dog.

The House by Chambray Blue is a beautiful story of looking at things that matter and bypassing what is superficial. Bob Noone is a homeless man but that all changes when he wins a lottery and buys a mansion with the money. He moves into his massive new home with his dog without knowing the history of the mansion. The moment he moves into the new mansion, he finds out that there is something strange about this place. He is scared and a little shaken, but nothing that he cannot handle. However, when things go out of control, he turns to God to help him. And God gives him a gift unlike any other he may have asked for. Soon, his mind opens along with his heart as God blesses him with a priceless gift.

This simple yet effective story is filled with twists, turns, and a great plot. Chambray Blue gives just enough for readers to stay focused on the story and read till the end. It is very hard to guess what will happen next, especially with our protagonist Bob. His connection with his dog Blink is simple yet enriching. Bob’s development is slow and poignant, something that draws the story forward. I love how simple Bob’s needs are; he has everything he could wish to yet he hopes for the simplest things in life. Bob’s blessing is unique and useful for him. I love how the narrative focuses on moving the story forward and making way for developing better opportunities for Bob. There is a lesson to be learned here, but at the same time, The House is simply fantastic to read!

A haunted house is known for causing its owner mental anxiety, sometimes resulting in insanity, and transforms the life of a homeless man in the chilling paranormal novel, The House by Chambray Blue. After a devastating divorce and a life-threatening illness, Bob Noone is homeless and living on the streets with his dog. To give Bob some hope in his sparse life, a kind woman gives him a lottery ticket along with a sandwich, unexpectedly changing the course of his life. Winning the lottery, Bob buys a mansion for him and his ailing dog. After the purchase, he discovered that nobody had been able to live in the house since one of the original owners had died in the pool several decades ago. On the first night in his new home, Bob noticed a mist forming within the rooms. Unconcerned by its presence, he trusts that he is protected and accepts its appearance without fear. The foggy mist comes and goes, occasionally forming in his room and sometimes around his guests. What motivates it? Is it a ghost or something else entirely?

The House by Chambray Blue is an intriguing novel with a supernatural essence co-mingling with the Christian principles of acceptance and unconditional love. Containing fascinating characters, a riveting storyline, and a convoluted plot, it is a captivating book that is hard to put down. Filled with twists and turns, the story gradually builds to an unexpected crisis, subsequently leading to a happy conclusion. Faith in God threads through the plot, creating an inspiring and compelling storyline. Including the elements of personal loss, trusting in God's love, and restoration, it is a stunning novel that will delight Christian readers from young adults on up.

Bob Noone has a heart of gold that sees only the good in people. The downside is, he is often an easy target for the opportunists surrounding him. His luck changes when he wins the lottery with a ticket given to him by a kind-hearted woman. He purchases a mansion and learns it holds a few secrets. Unexplained fogs appear suddenly and follow specific persons; the lights dim on their own. To make matters worse, his estranged ex-wife and sons want to get back together now that he is a millionaire. You have to read The House by Chambray Blue to find out if Bob can distinguish between the gold-diggers and the well-wishers.

Chambray Blue features a classic good versus evil trope in this book, using distinctive twists to keep it interesting. The characters are black and white; that is, they are either immoral or virtuous. Bob’s character personifies core Christian values. Despite being tortured in countless ways, he doesn’t hold grudges; instead, he is thankful for the few good things he has in life. His attachment to Blink, a stray dog he had rescued, and to Connie, whom he loves like a daughter, is a predominant feature of the story. Although the evil characters swoop down with their malicious intentions countless times, good always triumphs over them. The House thus exudes a feel-good, uplifting vibe. I would suggest this book to any reader who believes in core values and also to those who are enduring tough times.
