The House by Chambray Blue is a beautiful story of looking at things that matter and bypassing what is superficial. Bob Noone is a homeless man but that all changes when he wins a lottery and buys a mansion with the money. He moves into his massive new home with his dog without knowing the history of the mansion. The moment he moves into the new mansion, he finds out that there is something strange about this place. He is scared and a little shaken, but nothing that he cannot handle. However, when things go out of control, he turns to God to help him. And God gives him a gift unlike any other he may have asked for. Soon, his mind opens along with his heart as God blesses him with a priceless gift.
This simple yet effective story is filled with twists, turns, and a great plot. Chambray Blue gives just enough for readers to stay focused on the story and read till the end. It is very hard to guess what will happen next, especially with our protagonist Bob. His connection with his dog Blink is simple yet enriching. Bob’s development is slow and poignant, something that draws the story forward. I love how simple Bob’s needs are; he has everything he could wish to yet he hopes for the simplest things in life. Bob’s blessing is unique and useful for him. I love how the narrative focuses on moving the story forward and making way for developing better opportunities for Bob. There is a lesson to be learned here, but at the same time, The House is simply fantastic to read!
