The Feeling of Teaching: Using Emotions and Relationships to Transform the Classroom by Elizabeth Burris is a book that tells you about Teaching Through Emotions (TTE) and the TTE approach to teaching. This method is developed based on working through emotions and relationships and the ways in which teachers can improve on their teaching methods. The book has examples taken from classrooms where teachers have turned the negative experiences into positive ones, and many more other examples which will motivate readers. Readers are shown how powerful it is to work through emotions which will help them connect with the students in a better manner and convert classroom misery to joy. All teachers should read this book so they can transform themselves to become better teachers.
I think this is one of the finest books I have read on this topic in recent times. It is a must-read for all educators and teachers. The concepts in the book are amazing and they highlight the role played by emotions and relationships when it comes to teaching and learning. The ideas in the book should be integrated into student/teacher programs. Teachers and their support in classroom emotions and relationships is covered in the book as part of the TTE program. The author has shared many stories which help readers identify with situations very well. This method also helps teachers grow because it helps them in building their social skills, self-awareness, compassion, detachment, and in setting a boundary for themselves.
