Tim Love wrote The Book That Gets Better with Age: Observations Through the Looking Glass of Aging to help older folks process life – past, present and future – and assist young people in letting go of things that hinder them now so they can live a fuller life as they age. There are 32 chapters in the book, almost every one of which has an accompanying illustration which brings the concepts to life more. The font also increases one point in each chapter, so you go from about 10/12 font size to 40 or so. It is fun and makes reading feel fast and easy. Tim asked different people the question “What gets better with aging?” Answers like “comfort rather than fashion,” “enjoying the journey, rather than just racing to a destination,” “doing what you want instead of what you should do,” “having an easier time saying no,” show wisdom and insight that both old and young can appreciate.

I absolutely LOVE The Book That Gets Better with Age! Tim Love does an exceptional job presenting the different concepts. He has a great sense of humor and a good grasp of language. The chapters flow together and into the next so well, though each chapter can be read as a standalone. Also, select pieces of poetry and thoughtful quotes are sprinkled throughout the book. I find that I appreciate the wording and thoughts in these as I get older too. Poetry is a pain as a youngster. The flavor is so much better as you age – like a good wine. This book is so good. It will DEFINITELY go on my list of top favorite books. And I am already thinking of all the people that would appreciate getting it as a gift, including myself. Recommended for all ages.

David Carey, Hearst Magaz

"It is a humorous and highly relevant book. I enjoyed it so much I am asking my 20-year old son to read it."

Francis Pandolfi

"So I took the book with me on vacation because I thought "Tim will want me to say something nice to him about this so I better read it and write to him." Lo and behold, I started to read it and I couldn't put it down. Really. It is so full of truths that I have been trying to deny that I feel now as thought I don't have to deny them any longer - just accept them and learn to love them."

"Tim: you should feel very good. Context really matters. I got up and read your book cover to cover. When I originally looked at the draft I was thinking or I was looking for the next Harry Potter, but as a bikini in church is scandalous, on the beach it's not only more comfortable but extremely enjoyable to observe. In this context, your observations of life are an immensely enjoyable reflection. I loved taking the journey with you in the book. You nailed it. Well done and congratulations. I can't wait to share it with others.”

Steve Wilhite

"Well done! Insightful, humorous, and entertaining. Most importantly, for many readers it will be a shot of optimism in a rather dreary, pessimistic world."

Joe Plummer

"I love the book. It is so much the essence of Tim Love. Two things that get better with age are empathy and love of nature."

“After spending Christmas and Boxing (very British) days with my family and my elderly mum (she is 85 years), I got a message from Amazon saying that my book will be delivered today. They were true to their word and it came this afternoon - on the first quiet day I had. I read it straightaway and enjoyed it very much. It was one of the best Christmas presents I received this year. Would you believe it that one of my other presents was from my youngest son - a CD of Sinatra's greatest hits which was very apt with your Chapter 4!!

The book left me feeling 'I want to be alone with my thoughts' - something very few films left me feeling this way; e.g. Beautiful Mind.”

“I am in Florida ( the Keys) until early March. Normally, I go deep sea fishing, a lot, but this year has not been too good for that. Strong wins and rains! So, I bought your book to fill the time and enjoy... and I enjoy it a lot.

First, let me tell you that it's the ideal "loo book". Believe me, I am not being sarcastic but highly complimentary, au contraire. I like to take the book when Nature calls, read 3 to 5 pages , and move on with a smile on my face. Thank you for this smile. Your book is well written, fresh but also familiar because your observations are right on the dot.

Again, Tim you are proving your family name is not undeserved ! This is a charming book, full of empathy and, yes, love for your fellow baby boomers. Many a time, as a good advertising man, Tim holds the mirror to the reader and you can't help thinking, boy, do I relate to that.

Even a Frenchman as myself can believe that "Tim is talking to me personally". The writing is direct, yet charming and elegant. En conclusion, un bon bouquin, Tim.”

“Your little book is right by my bedside in Beijing. When I have a bad day, I turn a page to evoke a smile. Thank you for the collected wisdom!

Happy Chinese New year to you and the Love family! The year of Monkey is very good for your birth year!”

Doug Lind

“Thanks for putting me onto THE BOOK! My favorite two pages were 56 and 57. At 76 it all makes sense!”

Randy Bean

“I had to finish rereading War and Peace before tackling it, which I just did on a train ride to New York (from Boston through Stonington by the way).
Fun and wise -- and wonderfully illustrated as well. I always enjoy anecdotes. I should send you a link to my Wall Street Journal columns. I try to use anecdotes and metaphor to make business and tech issues intelligible, and human.”

Pat Sloan

“I shared this book with my 93 year-old mother and she, too, read it in one sitting and will not part with it. Full of gentle truths and common experiences, The Book that Gets Better with Age salves and lifts the spirit."

“Great read! Thoroughly enjoy the author's insight on the process of aging. It is a book that makes you think about the past but also gives insight about how you may approach the future. Additionally the illustrations by Terry Demaline were certainly cosmetically enhancing to the book but also added greatly to this enjoyable read. Would highly recommend this book to "Baby boomers" and to anyone wishing to get a little insight into the aging process.”

“The author, Tim Love, gives the art of aging a vibrant palette of colors in his newest release, The Book That Gets Better With Age. In each chapter he paints the mural of life with truth, humor, and heart! Some of my favorite insights come within the chapters of Truth Gets Easy, Forgiveness and The Sky. The fun is finding the chapters that resonate with your own experiences. This is an enjoyable read with brilliant moments of enlightenment for all.”

This is a fun read and would make a fabulous gift for someone turning 50’s gift (or even older) Due to the fact, I have grown older, the book feels like it was written about me. It makes you laugh and just know, been there done that! as you read it. The fact the print gets larger and I can actually read it with out my reading glasses near the end makes me chuckle. Thank you for the great read! I loved it !”

“I read THE BOOK THAT GETS BETTER WITH AGE in one sitting
and now I go back for bite-sized morsels of inspiration and entertainment. It’s on my bedstead now with Mark Twain’s WIT AND WISECRACKS, James Allen’s AS A MAN THINKETH and Norman Vincent Peale’s POWER OF POSITIVE THINKING.”

“Tim hits all the right notes with his observations! This book reminds us that aging provides the opportunity to get better, while wisdom and reflection allows us to fully seize that opportunity.”

“I devoured. Loved it. Well done – Engaging, thought-provoking, inspiring. I’ll pass it along to my wife to read next.”

Marina Maher

“This is the book that “keeps on giving.” When I first read it, I enjoyed it.
Of course, I found myself on some pages and that felt comfortable and reassuring. But after I finished it, the book kept calling me back.

Like all good books—or movies or people, for that matter—I kept wanting to go back for another visit. And each time I did, I found more in the book that was relevant and insightful for me, personally.

So to me, you are really on to something. You have hit a nerve, or a vein, or perhaps the mother load. I don’t know…but what you have created certainly resonates!"

Wally Snyder

"I am reading and enjoying your book, " The Book That Gets Better With Age." Actually, I'm including it chapter by chapter as part of my daily morning meditation. I was born in 1942 when my father was serving in WWII. So, technically, I am not a "Boomer." But, I consider myself to be one, as I was raised in the positive post war years when the middle class was established and the theme in my small Iowa community was "You're going to do better than we did."

Your opening chapter on Tom Burrell brought back memories of his inspiration, as we built our Mosaic program at AAF. Yes, I remember his direct looks at me as he expressed his love for the young multicultural students and professionals we were assisting.

Thank you for your inspiration from your book, and that I received from you throughout my career."

Cheryl Strauch

“As I read The Book That Gets Better With Age, I reflected back on my life journey through the references in your book. I also was aware of my sensory feelings I experienced as I read the book by the pool, just like ‘The Sky’. The bubbling water, the breeze in the palm trees, the lizard making his way across the lanai screen…. etc.

I was searching for one word to describe the book. My decision: It was a ‘DELIGHT’ ! There were wonderful scenarios that hit home. It was light, and well-written. The poetry and lyrics were well-chosen to compliment your thoughts, and they jumped off the pages with the black background. Good choice! The illustrations were outstanding. Terry’s descriptions about how he chose to draw each scenario were a wonderful addition to the book. Good friends like Terry have expertise in reading their comrades after years of personal observation. I also loved the quip about the glasses and the drawing in ‘Facing Adversity’….It certainly hit home for me!

How many young people could save time and energy by listening to these suggestions to find peace and enjoyment earlier in their life, as well as avoiding some embarrassment? ‘Truth Gets Easy’, ‘Memory’, ‘Owning You’, ‘Saying No’, ‘Forgiveness’, and ‘Appreciating Differences’, to mention a few.
Great descriptions and an all-around ‘ Delight’ to read and reflect on. I will tell my many friends in book clubs that are always searching for good new books to read. It is definitely great discussion material.

Thank you for allowing us into just one facet of your talents, and also learning a bit about your life. A job well done! I look forward to new creativity in your next book!”

“Inspirational, informational, incisive! This is a masterclass on how the baby boomer generation thinks, feels and acts and a superlative source of valuable information for marketing to them. Captured in punchy, everyday anecdotes that millions will relate to, this book underlines why Tim Love is one of the greatest marketing minds in business today."

(Advanced praise from the back cover)

“This zhihui de xiao shu (little book of wisdom) reflects much learning about Asian corporate culture. Seniority commands respect and trust. Wisdom comes with age. A 60-year-old politician is regarded young. Aging is graceful and rewarding process worth celebrating.”
