Author Biography

In the mid-nineties, I was diagnosed with AIDS. The diagnosis started my journey for information on living with HIV/AIDS. Through my twenty years of progressive experiences in the field of HIV/AIDS. I have learned so much important information regarding the virus. The more knowledge I acquired about HIV/AIDS, the more I wanted to share the information. I want to encourage others on how to live with the virus. I found my passion for working within the walls of my community. Conduction HIV 101 to the local community groups and organizations, educating the community about risky behavior and harm reduction. I have learned how to live with AIDS. I have found my voice. I wish to empower others to be aware of their health. Encouraging individuals to take control of their health through self-education and awareness.

The ABC's of HIV/AIDS by Wanda London is a handy manual that provides basic prevention information about the disease and how to avoid coming in contact with HIV. The book also helps recognize the possible risky behaviors readers should be aware of and answers all the questions children might ask about HIV/AIDS. This book will help parents, guardians, and caregivers build stronger communication with children, guiding them when it comes to their lifestyle, and living risk-free and safe. The book will also help readers understand the virus and that the virus can happen to them or anyone.

The ABC's of HIV/AIDS highlights the need to educate youngsters about HIV and keep them informed. The author gives a list of the material that should be shared at each level; Grades K-5, Grades 6-8, and Grades 9-12. Wanda London shares her story of being diagnosed with HIV and the stigma associated with it. She also speaks of growing both spiritually and emotionally, and how she placed her trust in God as she took her next step toward healing. Her mental strength in learning to live with the disease and how important it was for her to share knowledge, education, and learning about HIV has been discussed in detail. The myths and misunderstandings about HIV/AIDS have been discussed and the book will encourage informed adults to come forward and open a line of communication so that everyone has a chance to receive the facts and new information about HIV. The author has discussed the topic extensively and expansively, helping readers immensely.
