This is a collection of five short stories that are off-shoots from the wildly popular Kyn Kronicles series, featuring many of your favorite characters. Raine McCord and Gavin Durrand receive a gift they didn’t expect when they go to clean up after a Christmas engagement party that didn’t go according to plan. Raine and her boss Mulcahy find something dangerous on a vacation at the shore, something that has powers beyond all else imaginable. A package delivery results in an unexpected meeting and a visit by a Division Agent uncovers a web of deceit that was not planned for. An interview wraps up these five shadowy stories, five stories that will leave you wondering about the dark underworld you didn’t know existed.
Tangled in Shadows: Kyn Kronicles Short Stories by Jami Grey is an exciting set of five short stories. If you’ve read the Kyn Kronicles, you’ll be familiar with the characters. If you haven’t read them, you will want to be. I haven’t read the main books and these stories have whetted my appetite, making me want to read them and find out more about these characters. Each story was complete but leaves you wanting more. I found the stories easy to read and follow and each one was action from start to finish. There were no dead bits, no bits that went off on erroneous tangents and no unfinished endings. This is a good book to have to hand when you have a few minutes spare and I think that anyone will enjoy reading them, no matter what their age or taste in books.
