Tales from the Dark Side by Jenny Twist is a collection of short horror stories that will have readers relieved that they’re safely tucked away in bed with a cozy Jenny Twist book and not Uncle Vernon, who is still searching for his soul lost at sea. When a daughter discovers old photographs of a dead relative, a sudden burst of memory leads to a discovery that she can no longer bury in the dark recesses of her mind. A mother has to say goodbye to her son, but a special guest offers her an irresistible gift, only it has deadly consequences. Will she accept it? One man is in mortal danger and sends his twin sister a telepathic message asking for her help, and leaves behind one little clue. Will she be able to save him, or is he lost to her forever? Forget about short and sweet; these stories are short and downright scary!

A Victorian Doll’s House and Voices were firm favorites of mine, as who wouldn’t find a call from the dead deliciously horrifying? Or a good haunted house theme with dolls that come to life by stealing the spirit of a living soul, like one character discovered in A Victorian Doll’s House. In a dark and sometimes melancholic tone, which may evoke feelings of nostalgia for our own childhood stories, Jenny Twist delivers real entertainment, ensuring not only readers’ enjoyment but also intriguing stories they can tell to their friends and family. Readers will also enjoy learning about the inspiration behind the stories in Tales from the Dark Side.
