"Taken by Terror" is a cozy mystery. PB LaSalle introduces readers to the citizens of TerraCove. TerraCove is a small quaint community located on the Gulf side of Florida. Real Estate agent Peter was obviously in love with the widow Nora although she seemed oblivious to the fact. With Steve in town Peter knew he had new competition for Nora’s affection and attention. Nora was excited and honored that she was asked to be Celeste’s maid of honor at the quickly approaching wedding. When the bride disappeared unexpectedly the local law enforcement officers question all of Celeste’s friends including the bridegroom, Charles. It was soon established that the bride had been kidnapped. The police investigate the kidnapping but have very few leads. Meanwhile Celeste is held captive. Will the police find her? Perhaps she will escape. Why is she held against her will? Who would do this to her? To find the answers to these questions pick up a copy of “Taken by Terror.”
“Taken by Terror” is an entertaining mystery. The plot quickly drew me in and the characters soon became friends. I must admit I was suspicious of a certain character for a while. Nora was a fascinating character; however, Celeste was my favorite. Despite the fact that she was in a frightening situation she was calm and logical. This book has it all: mystery, suspense, terror, and romance. There are a lot of secondary characters. Most of them act in a supporting role; without them this tale may have fallen a little flat. PB LaSalle is a talented author; I look forward to reading more of her books.
