Steal the Moon is the second novel in the Crossing Stars Duet series by Venessa Kimball. What will you do when you find a love worth fighting for? Would you leave the love behind to save yourself, or would you fight until your last breath? Something like this happens to Ella and Raj, two star-crossed lovers who fought tooth and nail for their love, and it looks like the hard times are not over yet. Picking up from where the first novel ended, Raj has been taken, and Ella wakes up to a disgruntled Prince Zaid. Hurt and injured, Ella has no idea how she will get Raj back, but she knows she will get him back regardless of the consequences. However, she also has to think about the refugee situation. Is Raj safe? Is Ella fighting a losing battle looking for him? Will the two ever find one another?
I love novels that have action. Usually when authors write romances, they forgo actual stories and plots to focus more on the chemistry and the sizzle between the characters. Ella is the perfect protagonist. She is strong and vulnerable enough to connect with readers without being overbearing. Tom belongs to the class of supporting characters who deserve a novel while Prince Zain is the kind of antagonist that makes the reader wish for an anti-hero novel. There is mastery in the way Venessa Kimball writes. The narrative is so smooth that readers will be surprised by how easy it is to read and consume. The characters are given enough page space to lure the reader into their stories and make them want to stay until the end. The tension and action make readers feel like they are watching a movie, while the descriptions are so vivid that it is exceptionally easy for them to picture what is going on with perfect clarity. You don’t come across such novels a lot. Steal the Moon is a rare gem that I would highly recommend to everyone!
