"Space Cat" is a delightful children's book written by Jeff Dinardo and illustrated by Ken Bowser.
Cat had always dreamed of going into space. She does her studying and builds a grand model space ship, but Dog tells her that she cannot do it. Dog is not very encouraging and wants to see Cat fail. Cat does not give up and is determined to prove Dog wrong. Through trial and error, Cat will learn many lessons including that she should always follow her dreams and never to give up in something that she strongly believes in.
This is a wonderful children's book of concept that displays each step that Cat took in order to making her dreams successful. The illustrations are vivid, bright and colorful which compliments the wording nicely, and truly makes the book come to life. Young children will be able to follow it step by step and easily comprehend how Cat intends to achieve her goal. The end of the story includes a Big Question and Big Words section, which will help children comprehend the story better. Mr. Dinardo did a splendid job of blending reading comprehension and concept together. Reading comprehension is so crucial for children to understand early. This will provoke questions that parents, teachers, or caregivers can answer and build discussion on. Overall, this is a fun and imaginative story that combines concept with reading comprehension. It also contains a powerful lesson on determination and believing in your dreams. Very well done!
