Somewhere in Between is an action and adventure thriller by Jerry Baggett. Catherine survived a small plane crash and woke up in the San Bernardino Mountains wearing a thermal coat that did not belong to her. Catherine was suffering from amnesia and was in bad shape when an old man found her and took her home. There was much danger for a young woman in the mountains, and the man told Catherine that he and his grandson would protect her. Catherine’s father Mike asked Colonel Dammit McGowin for help with the investigation. McGowin would leave no stone unturned until Catherine was located. There had been a growing flow of illegal drugs out of Mexico through the mountains for some time, and McGowin soon found himself embroiled in the underworld of drugs and human trafficking.
Somewhere in Between is a thrilling story of survival and personal courage. Jerry Baggett had me hooked from the beginning. The writing style made me feel as though I was present during the events. The story is fast-paced and exciting, and there was never a dull moment. The suspense kept me on the edge of my seat. It was a page-turner with all the twists and turns. The characters are well-defined and authentic. Catherine was a strong woman who fought to survive. There was no way she was going to give up. She was a kind woman who grew close to the grandfather and his grandson in the brief time she knew them. This is an excellent thriller that was exciting. It exceeded my expectations and stayed with me long after I finished it.
