After 50 years as a practicing clinical psychologist, I have turned my attention to writing fiction. I have published several psychologically based novels and screenplays based on my experiences. My mission has been to help people maximize their potential and achieve their goals. Now, through my fiction writing, I hope to continue this mission and reach a larger audience. The stories I tell are all based on my years of practice. Each story deals with another aspect of the human condition.

Shattered Direction by Edward Dreyfus starts out with Harry realizing he had a problem and enlisting the help of Dr. Albertson, his psychiatrist, with putting the pieces of his life back together again. Everything seemed to be moving along well, Harry was receiving regular income and appeared to be happy when he is faced with temptation. One of Harry's friends introduced him to an opportunity that would prove to be his worst decision yet. Against his better judgment, Harry accepts the offer from Tom to make six times his current wage by shooting sexy photos. Harry had no idea how his new venture would change his life for the worst. He begins to do drugs, drink, and shoot porn as his life spirals out of control...
When Harry thinks back over his travels and how he was so pleased with obtaining a job at SAM's camera shop in Hollywood, this part of the story reminded me of my first actual job and how excited it made me feel to finally be self sufficient. Edward Dreyfus did a good job at making the reader feel Harry's appreciation for the opportunity given to him to work at SAM's.
Shattered Direction by Edward Dreyfus shows how aspiring photographer Harry Moreland goes through several transformations in his life before realizing what is truly important. This story is a good read because it shows how temptation can change a person's life, but also bring them full circle to better understand their life's purpose. Shattered Direction is a good novel that puts things into perspective about transformation and self reflection.
