Selfish Little Bob, Selfish No More! was written by Joyce Mitchell and illustrated by Emily Zieroth. It was Little Bob the rabbit’s fifth birthday. He was a very selfish fellow, never saying thank you and only thinking of himself. His mother wondered when he would learn to think of others. Bob also never wiped his mouth or cleaned the table, but his brothers and sisters always cleaned up after themselves. They even cleaned their rooms and made their beds. When Bob and his siblings and his friends all went out to play, Bob ran ahead and didn't wait for them. He tripped and broke his leg, and cried out for help, but he was all alone. When his friends found him they helped him home. Will Bob learn his lesson not to be rude and selfish? Can Bob learn to be kind and will he share his birthday cake without being reminded?
Selfish Little Bob, Selfish No More! is a delightful book enhanced with brightly colored illustrations by Emily Zieroth. The prose is easy to read and understand and the illustrations are beautiful, making this a book your children will want to read over and over again. Author Joyce Mitchell offers parents a great learning tool; the message of thinking of others and overcoming selfishness is well told in this book, and one that parents will be happy for their children to learn.
