Lost Love by J. T. Bishop delivers a gripping paranormal thriller that follows investigator Trick Monroe's pursuit of Proteus, a shape-shifting cryptid terrorizing Las Vegas. As Trick races to protect Lindsey, a woman haunted by her past, from this relentless supernatural predator, the story weaves together elements of suspense, paranormal mystery, and emotional drama. This seventh installment of The Redstone Chronicles creates a perfect balance of supernatural intrigue and human connection, while the Las Vegas setting provides a vivid backdrop for the chase that keeps readers guessing until the final page.

Author J. T. Bishop knows how to strike a balance of credibility in a supernatural thriller that feels both freshly ethereal and emotionally grounded. The way Bishop builds the suspense of the fast-paced plot through both action and atmosphere kept me on the edge of my seat, while her development of the terrifying shape-shifting enemy Proteus creates a truly memorable antagonist that strikes genuine terror into readers' hearts. This talent for pacing and suspense stands out, particularly in the chase sequences where Trick is really under pressure and utilizing all his considerable skills, yet Bishop never sacrifices character development for action. I was especially impressed by how she handled the emotional connection between Trick and Lindsey, making their relationship feel authentic despite the extraordinary circumstances with genuine dialogue exchanges and presentation of thought and action. Overall, I would highly recommend Lost Love to readers who enjoy paranormal thrillers that offer both heart-pounding suspense and emotional depth.

In J. T. Bishop's Lost Love, Trick Monroe works alongside a skilled paranormal investigator, Mason. When Trick's friend, Lindsey, goes missing, her father, Ben, asks him to search for her in Las Vegas. While in Las Vegas, Trick has an interesting encounter with Garret, Lindsey's brother. Garret is also desperately searching for Lindsey. Garret tries to dissuade Trick from searching for her. But Trick, who cares greatly for Lindsey, refuses to be intimidated. Lindsey's life is in grave danger, and her mysterious past has finally caught up to her. Trick recruits Mason in his quest to protect Lindsey. They go head-to-head against a dangerous shapeshifter. Will Lindsey finally open up to Trick and accept his help? Can Trick and his associates defeat this sinister force together?

Lost Love is an exciting paranormal mystery with numerous twists and turns to keep the reader engaged and eagerly turning the pages. The incredible plot and storyline will grip you from the start. J. T. Bishop is a master of world-building and character development. She has crafted well-fleshed-out characters that had me intrigued from beginning to end. Between Trick's and Mason's character evolution, I'm not sure which one impressed me the most. Both men are courageous, resilient, and skilled at getting to the root of the matter. They waste no time diving into this mystery and assisting Lindsey where necessary. I love how the author blends the action and suspense-driven moments with more intricate themes like the paranormal world, family connections, and romance. Paranormal mystery buffs will absolutely enjoy this book.

A former Texas Ranger, Trick Monroe, is on a mission. He must save Lindsey, who is more than a friend to him. A deadly, shape-shifting cryptid nicknamed Proteus roams the streets of Las Vegas, searching for her. Lindsey represents the cryptid unit, or CU, and seems strong enough to fight back. But the enemy plots to attack her when she deals with a terrible psychological trauma. Trick's partner, paranormal investigator Mason Redstone, unexpectedly offers a helping hand. He is involved just in time, as Lindsey's brother, Garret, goes missing. A rookie LVPD officer, Samantha Novak, gets more than she bargained for when she registers the missing person's report filed by Trick. Lindsey vows to stop Proteus at any cost. Will she confide in Trick? Lost Love by J. T. Bishop, the seventh book in The Redstone Chronicles, is a riveting read for thriller, suspense, mystery, and paranormal fiction fans.

For me, reading J. T. Bishop's books means savoring every page, being astonished by the rich nuances of the plot, laughing out loud over the hilarious banter between the beloved characters, and rooting with a racing heart for them to defeat another blood-curdling monster. Lost Love delivers it all and even more. Every character is fascinating, yet Trick Monroe stands out thanks to his deep personality. This time, we see Trick differently as he risks his life for Lindsey and tries to get through to her. His relationship with Lindsey is the centerpiece of the plot, and fans of romance and drama will enjoy it very much. Lindsey's strength and vulnerability will appeal to readers preferring books with intriguing leading ladies. This brilliant author invites us to a thrilling monster hunt. Proteus is a one-of-a-kind cryptid and a wickedly smart villain. Bishop adds a battle of wits to the mix of engrossing fight scenes and heartbreaking revelations to craft a strong, straight-to-the-point plotline. This novel is a winning combination of multiple genres, and I cannot recommend it highly enough.
