Scandalous Redemption by Amanda Mariel is the story of Lord Henry Shillington and Lady Claudia Akford. After the death of her abusive husband, Claudia returned to London in the hopes of entering into society again and carving out a happy life for herself, even if it wasn't the life that others thought she should have. Henry wasn’t sure who the drunk woman was when he intervened to protect her and the host of the house party from scandal, but he felt it was his duty. Little did Henry and Claudia know, they were meeting the one that would change their lives for the better. Confused and haunted by her past, Claudia is afraid to let Henry get close and feels that she can never give him what he deserves: a wife. Henry is traumatized from his own past and knows that he can't give Claudia what she wants: a lover.
Scandalous Redemption by Amanda Mariel is another amazing book. Once again in a story set in London, Amanda Mariel gives you more characters that you can relate to and a world where you take a step back in time and get a glimpse of the beauty, and unfortunately, the ugliness. I cried when Henry and Claudia felt that things were hopeless and I cheered for them as they slowly started to realize that things could work out the way they wanted. Scandalous Redemption is the third book in a series, but that doesn't mean you can't read it. While some events are tied to the previous book in the series, Scandalous Redemption is very well written and allows you to read without getting confused on previous events. I'll be watching for the fourth book in the series!
