Reify is a work of fiction in the Christian fiction, historical, and crime subgenres, and it forms the third novel of the Seahaven's Orphan Mystery book series. It is intended for young adult readers but can also be enjoyed by the adult reading audience. Penned by author Victoria Bastedo, the work is a complex tale of mystery and self-discovery that revolves around Michael, who has long lived a double life as Vanish, a skilled thief. Accused of theft, Michael finds his world thrown into chaos as he attempts to both clear his name and come to terms with his own identity.

Author Victoria Bastedo has crafted a highly engaging story that delves deep into themes of identity, morality, and the search for a higher purpose. I was really engrossed by the pacing and plot events as Michael's journey shifts from the excitement and intrigue of his previous life as Vanish to a more introspective and spiritual quest. The references to God and the characters' moral compass add new layers of poignancy, symbolism, and emotion as we see their judgment and conscience development. The authorial voice is witty and clever, along with some very amusing turns of phrase, and this made the characters and the setting come alive with the author’s vibrant personality. Bastedo's writing combines humor, mystery, and introspection in a way that keeps the reader engaged throughout, always wondering where the next revelation is coming from. Overall, Reify is not your average mystery novel but a thought-provoking journey of self-discovery and personal growth wrapped in a captivating story that I would highly recommend.
