From the moment I started reading Recipe For Love by Katie Fforde, I was hooked. I’ve actually read this author prior and have quite enjoyed her novels, but this one was really a standout for me. I’m a big fan of foodie fiction as well, so mix in competing on a cooking reality show, and I was one happy reader. In Recipe For Love, we follow Zoe Harper, who gets the chance to compete on said reality show. She hopes to open her own deli if she wins, but the competition turns out to be tough, ruthless, and a lot more complicated than Zoe was betting on. From the get-go she has issues with her roommate, Cher, but falling for one of the judges, Gideon, means Zoe has a whole slew of issues on her plate.
Like I said, I was hooked from the beginning. Zoe was easy to befriend, and between the forbidden romance, a cutthroat roommate and competitor in Cher, and the fast-paced reality show competition, this was a fantastic read. It was one I had a very difficult time putting down, until I got to the end. Not because I didn’t want to know how it ended because I really did, but because I was sad the book was going to be over and I was trying to prolong the story. That is the mark of terrific writing to me and I’m happy to rate this book a big five stars and highly recommend for your reading list!
