In Queen Vernita Meets Sir Heathybean the Astronomer, Queen Vernita sent an invitation to Sir Heathybean and Cora the Teacher to come to her castle for one week a month, Monday through Saturday, for the whole year in order to teach her visitors about astronomy. On each day Sir Heathybean and Cora the Teacher taught the visitors something different and interesting about the solar system. This little book is full of information about our solar system. It covers the planets, the sun, the moon, asteroids, and a lot about our planet Earth.
This is my first Queen Vernita book to read, and I am in awe of the wealth of information packed in this little book. It is very evident that a lot of research was done, and there’s probably a lot of information here that many adults don’t know, me included! I sure didn’t know that Pluto was made of 98% ice and 2% rock, or that it takes 243 Earth days to make a single day on Venus. Just think we would all be younger on Venus!
Adults, as well as older children, will be fascinated reading this neat book. The cover will capture the interest of any child or adult. The inside pages are very colorful with adorable illustrations that make the story fun and enjoyable. This book would be an added addition for any home, public or school library, and would also be great for the families who home-school their children.
