Power Healing: The Healing Power of EFT, Book 1 is a non-fiction inspirational self-help book written by Paul Ardennes. Ardennes is a Reiki Master as well as a qi-gong practitioner and a student of the metaphysical sciences. He suggests that ailments and the failure of modern medicine to eradicate them may stem from the negative stresses and emotions endemic to people living in the modern world. EFT, Emotional Freedom Technique, or tapping, is a way for individuals to begin their own healing processes by getting in touch with those emotions and stressors and moving past the emotional barricades that we all put up in one way or another. Tapping is a form of acupressure which works in a similar way to acupuncture, but without needles or the need to have another person administer the treatment. The tapping is done on the same meridian lines as with acupuncture and is accompanied by affirmative statements. Ardennes discusses where and how to tap, and he explains how it can be as effective as many practitioners have found it to be. He gives you sample affirmations and shows how you can tailor them to fit your own needs. Ardennes also provides a troubleshooting section that can be helpful in finding out why your EFT sessions seem to be having no effect and how to fix that.
Paul Ardennes' non-fiction inspirational self-help book, Power Healing, was of particular interest to me as I've seen only brief descriptions of the process in the past. Ardennes is a natural teacher. He clearly sets out what EFT is and how to do it. His instructions are clear, concise, and rendered in a conversational tone that made me feel as though I were being personally coached by him. I also appreciated his offering alternative methods of tapping for situations where one doesn't have privacy and his suggestions for fine-tuning one's EFT sessions. While I had been somewhat skeptical of the process based on the little I had read of it before now, Ardennes' instructional work has given me a much better grasp of what the process is and how it can be a useful tool for maintaining health and wellness. I was very impressed with this book and intend to try out this fascinating healing process myself. Power Healing is highly recommended.
