Polly, Stubby, and Al by Donahue B. Silvis is a sweet story about one mischievous crow and the family that loves him. The family begins with a happy couple, their two lovely daughters, and their two well-behaved pets. Everyone is set in their routines. Then one day their lives change when they rescue a crow called Al that quickly becomes a member of the family and makes their lives a lot livelier. As they grow to love the crow, they quickly see how much trouble he gets himself into, but when he becomes lost in a storm his family realizes just how much they love him.
The story is funny and packed with several hilarious moments that will make children laugh. Donahue B. Silvis will have children completely enthralled with Al's hijinks, from drinking all the cream out of milk bottles to taking clothes off clotheslines to teasing the dog to plucking flowers out of flower boxes. Every page is an exciting turn in this family’s adventures and a new insight into Al’s personality. Al is a delightful example of mischievousness as he surprises people with his speech and his quippy attitude often lands him in trouble. The illustrations are lovely with soft colors and vivid details that give a fun view of each of the various capers Al finds himself in, a sweet peek at the family, and the various pets' moments together. Polly, Stubby, and Al by Donahue B. Silvis is a delightful story that is whimsical and playful, centered on a mischievous crow and his antics.
