Pollenesia by Clyde Tosalini is satire at its best, right from the word go. Dalt Frisbie has big plans for an amusement park, much to the delight of the locals. Unfortunately, his plans start to go wrong when Richie Rat appears in town. Mr. $-ner follows and brings a whole host of people with him – cartoon rats, real rats, and a load of beautiful women clad only in bikinis. That’s when things start to go downhill for Dalt and his plans for Pollenesia. Add to that Hurricane Mickey, and you have a real recipe for disaster. This is a satirical take, perhaps on Disneyland, most definitely on Florida, and almost certainly the tourist sector. The story is told by a man who worked at the park as a janitor, therefore it must be true.
Pollenesia by Clyde Tosalini was mildly amusing, clearly a mickey take of the biggest theme park in the world and tourism. Mr. Tosalini has put a good deal of effort into the story and the characters and one wonders if this is perhaps more truth than fiction in terms of it being what Mr. Tosalini really thinks of Florida and Disneyland. Whatever the reason behind the story, he does give readers something to think about and have a bit of a giggle over at times.
