Pegasus: A Dragon’s Tale, written by Gina LoBiondo and illustrated by Stephanie Zuppo, is a beautiful and imaginative story for children. Prince Dayshawn and Princess Kameela are two bear cubs and one day they find an egg which they take home to hatch. A dragon is hatched and he is named Pegasus. Pegasus lives with the bear cubs; however he is released to the wild once he becomes too large. Years later when the Prince and Princess are grown, they are kidnapped and held captive until they are rescued by Pegasus, who then becomes a special part of the family and kingdom.

Gina LoBiondo and Stephanie Zuppo have done a wonderful job with the story and illustrations. Dragons are creatures children love to read about. This book will teach children of a young age the importance of being kind to others and helping when one can and then the favor will be returned in time of need. The illustrations are cute and do not appear scary or menacing which is something I was happy with while reading the book to my young children. This is a book that will be enjoyed by children and adults and will stimulate imaginations! Written with the style and concept of a fairytale, this is one that will be enjoyed over and over again for years to come.

Pegasus A Dragon's Tale is a cute little story about a brother and sister who come across a special egg and what happens once it hatches. The names of the characters were creatively written, giving off a feeling of royalty to them. It was a well-written tale with a happy ending that everyone will enjoy.

This is a delightful book for children that will making the reading experience for parents enjoyable too and opens up many topics of conversation for both child and parent.

This is a beautiful story of bravery, friendship and acceptance of differences, accompanied with lovely illustrations along the way. I can really imagine a child being eager to find out what happens in the story.

Overall

It's hard for someone without a child to test how enjoyable this is for a child, I can only assume (and comment how my inner child enjoyed it too!) I'll be sure to pass this on to a friend and their child in the hope that they will enjoy it as much as I think they should!

I read this before reading it to my four year old to see if she'd enjoy it. As soon as I saw the first image I knew she would. The writing is tailored to a young child's way of thinking, and the pictures are captivating and tell the story themselves for younger readers who might find the words hard to understand.

A story with a moral, as all children's stories should be - look after others and the good deed will come back to you.

(Writing down my four year old's words.)

I love how the dragon is named after my unicorn. I love how the dragon sleeps on the rug like my cat. I love the pictures because they are colourful. The king is really clever for making sure the dragon has lots of water and fruit. The bad man is mean for taking the bears. I love the dragon for looking after his bear friends.

I have to admit - I rather enjoyed reading this sweet tale. I highly recommend it to anyone who has a child who still enjoys spending time in the world of imagination where bears can talk, dragons can be loved like puppies, bad guys get their comeuppance, and all the good folk can live happily ever after. Pegasus: A Dragon's Tale hits the mark 100%.

I can't believe it but this story made me cry! It'a beautiful tale - like the ones our parents and grandparents used to read to us. No wonder it received so many awards! It'a about friendship and accepting one another the way we are, and love, and wisdom, and kingdoms far away. I loved it.
