In Orion & The Orcas by Debbie Bailey, Orion (8) and her family are going on a fishing trip. Orion always dreams of catching the most fish, but when her family goes on the trip, she is constantly told that she is too young to be fishing in an ocean. Orion is getting tired of being told that she is too young and, with all the courage that she can muster, takes the smallest fishing pole, and casts the line over the boat. But her fishing line gets trapped in the engine, and when she went to get it, her father started the engine. She went flying into the ocean and that is how her adventures with the orcas began. Once she drinks the mother orca's milk, she realizes that she can talk to the baby orca. But with all the fun adventures comes danger, especially in the ocean. The orcas are beginning to not want to be responsible for Orion's safety. Read this book to find out what happens to Orion & The Orcas!
Orion & The Orcas by Debbie Bailey was a good read for me. It definitely sparked my adventure trait, and maybe a bit of my animal and fantasy traits as well. I recommend this to young children who like adventures and animals. This can also be enjoyed by some adults who would like to revisit their young and adventurous childhood.
