Born on Lackland Air Force Base in Texas, Anna grew up moving here, there, and everywhere thanks to her dad’s job as an instructor pilot. She’s lived in Texas (twice), Mississippi, California (twice), Michigan (twice), and Alaska—and now Ohio.
As for her writing, Anna has always made up stories in her head, but she didn’t write them down until her teen years. Those first awful books went into the trash can a few years later, though she learned a lot from those stories. One Hot Chance (Hot Brits Book One) by Anna Durand is a romantic novel and a fantastic page-turner. It will catch the attention of any adult who loves great love stories. Elena, a paralegal, has a superb job, but her boss, Raisa, is a thorn in her flesh. After a stressful day at work, she goes to the bar for some drinks, and there she meets Chance. Elena engages in a steamy one night romp with Chance but discovers the next day at the office that he’s her boss’s ex-husband. Raisa is a formidable divorce lawyer who no one crosses. She wants her ex-husband back and has given Elena the task of making it happen. Things are about to get heated, and it’s a survival of the fittest!
Wow! Anna Durand did an impressive job on One Hot Chance (Hot Brits Book One). This book is a thorough blend of steamy romance, humor, suspense, and unpredictability. The plot is engaging and has a depth that held me spellbound until the end. Durand built powerful characters, but with flaws that made them human and relatable. Her writing style is simple, and the dialogues flowed freely. The story evoked in me a cocktail of emotions, such as joy, anger, suspense, immense fear, sadness, and laughter. My best character was Elena because I saw myself in her; strong, determined, brilliant, yet a sucker for love! I believe that One Hot Chance (Hot Brits Book One) will be a hit if adapted into a TV series. We deserve more of Anna Durand’s works!
