Omac the Frog by Shandra Perry is a short children’s book for Grade K-3rd kids. It is perfectly suited for them and is beautifully illustrated. The author has obviously drawn her little characters with love. She is an educator and is devoted to children, especially special needs ones, which is obvious when we read her book. The dedication to children who follow their dreams is lovely and ideal. The drawings are uplifting and nice to look at. The story is that of friendship and recognizing the importance of your family and friends, of who you actually are, even if at one point you need to escape your own reality to pursue your dreams.
Omac the Frog by Shandra Perry is an adorable work. It is designed to help children face their needs, face the things that prevent them from living their dreams right away. But, above all, it is meant to show them that everything can be achieved with a strong desire and with a positive mindset. It is a superb story of this little frog, Omac, who is dissatisfied with his life. He cannot stand the noise his family makes; even being with his family is not pleasurable any longer for him. He only wants to fly like butterflies and decides to leave everyone and everything behind to live his own adventure. However, the little narrator, his best friend, follows in his path, for our sheer pleasure. Who would tell us this beautiful story otherwise? In my family, we are all under the spell of this modern-day tale. One could almost say it is a bildungsroman as little Omac grows so much during his exploits! A great book for wonderful kids! I highly recommend it!
