In Never Presume, Martin A. Line creates a gripping thriller and presents a character parallel to the fictional serial killers we love to hate. Being born and raised in a talented family did not stop Jeremy Montgomery from sinking into psychopathy. He got his first taste of murder in his teenage years with a self-centered bodybuilder as his victim. As he grows up and slips deeper into lack of sympathy and remorse, his predisposition for killing becomes more ambitious, channeling his obsession with a biker gang responsible for the killing of the wife and daughter of Birmingham Police Superintendent James Fox. With a formidable serial killer like Montgomery on the loose, Fox will not be alone in solving Montgomery’s trail of murders. Detective Sergeants Janet Connor and Sean Davies join the hunt as this cat and mouse game culminates in a situation that will tear the heart and soul.
Martin A. Line creates a three-dimensional killer that is charismatic and lethal. Jeremy Montgomery is a cerebral treat, a psycho biding his time like a praying mantis, calculating his every move so that he is always a step ahead of those pursuing him. A serial killer with a purpose, he is also generous and at times thoughtful as a means of restitution for his wrongdoings. In Never Presume, the serial killer as a villain well defines the heroes who are not immune to wrong turns. This thriller has the makings of a classic. Jeremy Montgomery earns his badge to join the ranks of notorious fictional psychopaths.
