Joann Ellen Sisco's My Sister My Friend is a wonderfully warm book with a simple story that doesn't fail in any department. An exciting, heartwarming story about family, love, children and sacrifice. My Sister, My Friend is a book that can teach us a lot about what sharing and caring with and for family means. The delightful antics of the boys are funny and scary at the same time and keep one on the edge and hooked till the end.
Carl and Lorena Morgan are parents to five mischievous yet wonderful boys. They are done with having children and are happy with what they have. But Lorena's sister Inna Mae has been yearning for a child with no success. Can Carl and Lorena help her? Will they be able to make the ultimate sacrifice of having and then giving away a baby which would be their flesh and blood? An extremely hard decision that could end in tragedy or happiness for both the couples. Lorena and her sister have always been close and helped each other through the years. Now it is Lorena's turn to help her sister.W ill she be able to give up her baby for her sister's happiness? Is it really possible for a mother to put her sister's needs over those of her child?
My Sister My Friend by Joann Ellen Sisco is a thought provoking read that really tests the boundaries of family and love. The underlying seriousness of the theme is offset by the wonderfully delightful ruckus created by Lorena's five boys. Their antics are hilarious and keep one in splits. The innocence of the boys and their adventures are are definitely a high point of the book.
