My Dog, Bexley, Is Just Like Me is a children's book written and illustrated by Maureen Scanlon. Bexley and her human companion are so much alike in ways that matter. Bexley loves getting cuddles by her humans and vice versa. When Bexley is hungry, she loves to eat. During thunderstorms, Bexley and her human both hide under the covers so the lightning and thunder are not so scary. Bexley loves to play catch with a ball, while her human loves to play soccer. When Bexley is tired, she and her human love to take naps. Both are shy with new people and when thirsty, both enjoy a refreshing drink. Every single day, Bexley and her human love learning new things. Because they are so alike, every day is fun and happy, and together they can be free. It is wonderful that Bexley and her human have so many things in common.
Life is one big adventure for children, especially when they share their world with a pet. Never will they feel lonely or trapped when they are afraid. Maureen Scanlon's tale of a young girl who shares her life growing up with her dog, Bexley, is one that so many families with pets have in common. One always feels safe with the other, and learning that concept makes life an exciting adventure that both humans and pets benefit from. Trust between humans and animals is very important from when the dog is a puppy right through to its older years. I will forever be grateful to have been raised alongside my canine brothers and sisters, and wholeheartedly recommend My Dog, Bexley, Is Just Like Me to all families who are about to adopt a furry friend into the family.
