Muddy Little Secrets: Victim to Victory, Tragedy to Triumph by Demra Robbins and Alicia Sims-Mercado is an inspiring story of heartache and love, and finally finding God. Two friends, Alicia and Demra, are broken inside, although on the outside they project a different image. The book takes you through the journey of the lives of these two women who tackle their past and their struggles. Their trust and faith in God is inspirational. It is a story of love, redemption and forgiveness for those who are looking for it. It is a beautiful book of getting out of all life’s muck and finally healing.
The experiences mentioned in the book are honest and relatable. It exposes the lives of two people and reiterates the presence of God in our lives. The experiences of these two people also motivate one to seek God and find peace by doing that during times of trouble. The freedom that one gets by trusting God and by healing, and how Alicia and Demra never lost their faith during the lowest phases of their lives, gives hope to readers. Their courage is inspiring and the dedication to be better in spite of all their struggles is contagious. The book has many dimensions to it. It will make you laugh and cry and reach out to God. It teaches you to forgive, forgive and forgive. The inspirational quotes from the Scriptures are indeed helpful and they motivate you to bring about changes in your daily life.
