Welcome to Mystic's carnival, where there is more here than meets the eye, where witches and wizards are hiding in plain sight and where the more you look, the more there is to discover. Debra Kristi's Moorigad takes you on a journey into this delightful carnival where the paranormal thrive. Meet Sebastian, a half Grim Reaper, and Mara (something like the sirens in Greek mythology), who works as a tarot card reader. He's your average moody teenager who is running from a family legacy. Then there's Kyra, a hybrid dragon of fire and water, known as a Moorigad, who is also running from her family's pressure when she stumbles onto Mystic's carnival. Together these two become best friends and work together at the carnival, in hopes of finding a place where they belong. It all seems to be fine until their families start meddling. But it's not just their families they have to worry about. Evil forces are at work, trying to destroy their relationship and completely obliterate Kyra's family. Can Kyra make the right choices?
Debra Kristi wove a magnetic tale filled with best friends, family drama and magic. I fell in love with Sebastian and Kyra, especially when they constantly tried to show their good intentions toward each other. They were brought to life with creative flair and boldly struggled to live their lives. While it takes a bit to jump in at the beginning, once you have joined them in Mystic's carnival, the magic has already pulled you into the story. You are in for a fantastical, magical ride and, for those who love paranormal books, this one is for you. I loved it.
