Moneytopia: Investing is a short picture book aimed at teaching financial literacy to children. Written by Shanshan Peer with colorful illustrations by Jelena Stupar, the book follows some kids as they learn the fundamentals of money. After throwing a successful party for which they had saved, Chuck and his friends have a discussion on what they can buy next with their savings. The friends soon realize that saving money wasn't enough to get them the things they want. They approach their teacher, Ms. Kitty, with their problem, who introduces them to the world of investing. Soon, the kids start learning about concepts such as compound interest, diversification, stocks, and much more. They discover that their best course of action is to invest in themselves. Will they get their game consoles and laptops by investing their money?
An educational and highly informative book, Moneytopia: Investing is well worth spending your time on. Author Shanshan Peer uses an easily accessible narrative and simple words to tell a fun story to teach kids the fundamentals of investing and utilization of money. This is a helpful book that can be introduced to children at an early age when they begin to have an idea about the concept of money. Jelena Stupar's beautiful illustrations make the characters pop out of the pages, leading to an immersive narrative that kids can read, learn from, and enjoy.
