Milton Finds His Way Home (The Yoga Story Series) is a wonderful adventure that parents and teachers will enjoy reading and acting out scenes from the book. I would recommend reading the book through the first time and then reading it again while doing the actions. Author Nitya Malik has written a beautiful tale of a pig that gets lost in the woods but finds his way home with the help of his new friend Henrietta, a hen. The mother hen shares some survival techniques and helps the little pig find his home. This adventurous story takes us on a journey through the woods and across a creek, but it also introduces us to some popular yoga stretches. A wonderful adventure with colorful illustrations and interactivity make this a successful book.
Milton Finds His Way Home (The Yoga Story Series) is bound to find a place in your heart, as well as a spot on the floor to recreate some movements seen in the book. Why not walk around the room pretending to be in the woods and jump over an imaginary creek? Teachers will like the story as well as the yoga stretches to do with young students. Parents will like the imaginative story and the interactive aspects of the book. The artwork by illustrator Austeja Slavickaite Wojtczak is realistic and very well rendered. The full-color illustrations will invite children into the book, while the story will keep them entertained. But author Nitya Malik doesn’t want you to just read the book; she wants you to get up and move with the story. I like the review at the back of the book demonstrating how to do some yoga poses—and I think parents and teachers will, too. Nitya Malik also explains the benefits of each of these poses.
